Materialistic Idea
I want to recreate a memory I have with my grandpa. He would take us up to his horse pasture and have us shoot prairie dogs and magpies because of how he affected his horses. It was a fond memory for me because my grandpa means a lot to me, and I liked spending time with him. Even though I liked spending time with him, I hated that he had me kill animals. He never really forced me, but I wanted to do it to make him proud even though it was hard to do. Luckily, I had my twin brother also with me, so he would do most of the shooting because it didn't eat him up inside as much.
I want to work with hand painted things and 3D objects similar to Ernest Zacharevic. I enjoy painting on walls and bringing in 3D elements. I also want to add some sound to the gallery to really transform the space. Some magpies chirping and prairie dogs scurrying/barking.

More images that show up please? There should be more than one.
Going forward- Artists to look at:
Robert Gober, Ann Hamilton, Jorge Pardo,
Not for presentation- but look at Ernest Zacharevic
Once I see your materialistic idea I can offer more artists..
For Mondays' class: Pick at least one of these installation artists ( can be more than one if you desire) to share with the class. You should be able to speak 5-10 minutes. Look in the Library (Coe library) to see what books/articles are available on your chosen person so you are not only looking online. How can you take what they do and allow it to inspire your Materialistic installation?
- Where are they from
- What are the ideas they are pursuing?
- materials?
- intriguing aspects of their work that you can be inspired by?
