Blog Requirements

Making art does not happen in a bubble-we need that which is happening around us and done before us to help us clarify what we want to communicate. We do this by using a sourcebook for notes and research, a sketchbook to work through ideas, and a blog and wyocourse page discussions to communicate these ideas with our peers. As artists working in 3D, you need to think like an engineer or architect.

Log/write/draw as you go. This aids us to help each other as well as keep us informed about what you are thinking.

Write down artists names/ processes, ideas as you complete this course.

You are also expected to participate in discussions on our course page during the entire semester.

Each Post:

Please label posts Name: Project Name

This entails:

* Including sketches for each project. Quality of images is important.

* Uploading to discussion posts: the day before class by 5pm. Life happens so I am allowing you a grace period, which is

the day before class by midnight, but only when needed.

* Attaching artist images- the artists must be from the list given in this syllabus and from the given powerpoints.

* You researching into those artists that interest you from slideshows of past and contemporary artists utilizing installation art as communication. Also by sharing new findings with the class.

* Writing about your ideas - At least 500 words required to describe each project.

Paint a picture in words of what your installation will strive to express. You do not need to speak about how you will make it.

* For projects, think of this as journaling online about the process and include sketches that make sense to share.

We are always focused on improving drawing form.

* Leaving enough time to comment on your peers’ work. You should comment on at least 2 peers posts each time. Comments only functions while using chrome.
